Aristotle recommended moderation, or the ‘golden mean.’ Virtue can be found as a reasoned, logical place between two extremes. For example, courage is virtuous, but when carried to an extreme it becomes destructive recklessness. A lack of courage brings about its opposite, cowardice.
We see today a great many ‘virtue signalers’ who want to feel good about themselves. They consider themselves, kind, humane and generous and they want you to know about it. They demand help for poor, suffering people all over the planet. They want them removed from their own countries and cultures and brought to the United States so we can see such help up close and personal. “Let them in!” they shout. Their signs say, “Refugees are welcome!” They think all humans are equal and there should be no borders. At least, not for the United States.
The problem with such virtue signaling is they want to help people by forcing others to participate. Someone has to pay for for the immigrants who come here wanting free stuff. Things such as medical care, education, housing and food. The immigrants also bring cultural conflict, violence and crime. Big government is the tool used by virtue signalers. They want to steal from you via taxes to pay for the welfare of strangers.
I lived in San Angelo, Texas for nearly 10 years. The many Mexican Americans I knew there were proud of their heritage, but they considered themselves Americans first. They scorned immigrants from Mexico who did not bother to learn English. Nowadays, it’s considered ‘racist’ to insist people have a common language and culture. We are no longer a melting pot.
Massive muslim immigration is even more dangerous. They demand Sharia Law, not our Constitution. They consider Islam to be superior to Christianity. They do not assimilate—they dominate. Importing Islamic culture is a recipe for future strife and conflict. Refugees wanting to escape their hell holes too often want to transform their host countries into the very same hell holes that they left. Look at what happened to Sweden. Crime and rape skyrocketed and now there are ‘no go’ muslim zones. This the the same vision Obama had for America. That’s why he drove hard to the hoop to import as many muslims here as he could. A divided country is easier for world government types to control.
Victor Davis Hanson is one of my favorite writers. His books on history are excellent. He also wrote an excellent book titled “Mexifornia,” in which he expertly sums up the problems California and other states are facing. That is, a new paradigm where illegal immigrants are not assimilating. English is no longer expected to be spoken. “La Raza,” an openly racist organization, wants to turn California into Mexico while of course still insisting their people get plenty of free stuff.
California wants to be a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants. There is even talk about secession. Under Governor Jerry Brown (Governor ‘Moonbeam’), the state’s debt has deepened to over $400 billion. Regardless, more free stuff is perpetually promised and more immigrants are desired. They can’t afford to help every suffering person in the world without making citizens themselves suffer. This is an example of a virtue being carried to an extreme. Helping others has become a dangerous vice.

Great cartoon! Having the freedom to send help to others and contribute to preventing conflicts is not the same as being a pathological altruist-masochist. New world disorder only wants what remains of the ‘West’ not to have borders or immigration control.
The Japanese or South Korean approach is what the West should do:
Not being minions of the war lobby/NWO and (when it’s possible) helping abroad reasonably.

Governor Jerry Brown is a completely Stalinist governor. Besides making it so illegal aliens can vote:
1) He signed into law statewide a shopping bag tax after being bribed by a cartel of grocery stores called The Grocery Manufacturer’s Association. They spread the lie that it helps the environment when it actually hurts the environment. It’s not even a plastic bag ban. Stores simply charge 10 cents for plastic bags. They’re the same bags as before, but they’re thicker so they’re slower to break down. And all the illegal aliens are on food stamps anyway and food stamp people aren’t charged.
I simply buy nearly all my food online now as I remember it’s the grocery stores who push these laws.
2) He signed into law that faucets and shower heads must be reduced to where barely any water comes out. And the US always forces low flow toilets which are urinals disguised as toilets. Like urinals, they cannot handle solid waste. Well Governor Jerry Brown signed into law reducing even their water size by 1/3rd. All the new toilets look like milk carton above them. Every single poop, people have to use a plunger. And the only way I’ve found to reduce things was if basically I keep my toilet handle clean and then throughout the day whenever I walk by it, I just flush it. If I’m in the bathroom for simply else, I constantly flush it. This helps move all the solid waste that gets stuck in the pipes because not enough water goes through.
3) California is now flooding. Dams are spilling over. And Governor Jerry Brown refuses to remove the water restrictions. I hope the whole state capital just floods.

On a side-note, the US government around the year 2000 made a law so all new washing machines don’t clean anymore, barely any water and no agitation. This was pushed by every washing machine manufacturer as the new machines cost double.

Where is YOUR personal security detail? Why are American Taxpayers funding 24/7 Secret Service bodyguards and High Tech fencing for people who tell us fences are proof of Our BIGOTRY and HATE, and WE should allow anyone at all into our home? “Our” politicians dare call us RACIST and BIGOTS for wanting to protect Our Families …. as they hide behind multi layers of security. Save American Taxpayers Hundred$ of Million$. Halt all Taxpayer funding of security to those who preach National Border Security is useless and UNAmerican. Make them WALK their TALK, tear down fences WE paid for, take the guards and locks WE pay for from their doors. They should not be allowed security when WE are NOT.
I am getting to the point that I support California secession. In fact, I am thinking that the other 49 states make it mandatory for California. As for immigrants, if they are “undocumented” they are not immigrants — they are criminal invaders. After all, the beginning of wisdom is to call things by their true name.
Maybe we should have a bond system for true immigrants. Each immigrant has to have a $100,000 bond. Either they pay for it, or people can volunteer their own money to pay for them. If the immigrant seriously violates the law, he is sent back and the bond goes for restitution to any damaged parties, with any surplus sent to the local community’s general fund.
