Many people use internet “memes” without giving much thought about it, including on commercial products like video games, or your mug.
This is wrong, as you are making a profit out of other people’s work (the original artist who made pepe). Unless somehow I missed on you being the pepe creator, you should not use it for commercial reasons.
For years you complained about how 4chan made improper use of your cartoons – yet, they never do it for money. You are. You are doing something much more shameful than what they did.
As an artist, I hope you realize another artist made pepe the frog, and you are selling his work without his permission.

4chan guy here. As soon as someone on 4chan mentioned that Ben was selling stuff on this site, I rushed over here to make a purchase.
Personally, I really don’t like the fact that there are a few guys over on 4chan who try to slander Ben’s good name.
However… anyone who does the least bit of research will learn that Ben is a clever and talented cartoonist who is not racist but just anti-fascism, and it’s just three or four anonymous guys at 4chan that are slandering Ben’s good name because they think it’s funny. And even though I generally like 4chan and its culture of anonymity, I really don’t like what those few idiots were trying to do to Ben’s good name.
However, some might say that any publicity is good publicity, and it’s true that I might not have ever heard of this great libertarian cartoonist if it weren’t for the slander from a few idiots at 4chan who happened to be talented with PhotoShop.
And anyway, I’m happy I had the chance to buy the Pepe mug.
In conclusion, I’m not giving my real name on this comment. I’ve been on 4chan long enough to know that giving your real personal information is a bad idea. If you wonder what might happen if you give your PI, well, just ask Ben.

8chan isn’t the horrible place it’s made out to be. The anonymity attracts people that have been rejected everywhere else on the internet. Hotwheels lets us post about anything we want he’s not going to censor it. There’s a lot of things said there that most people wouldn’t like but none of us mind it. A lot of people there even got kicked out of 4chan so it’s like a home for us.

Sure, Pepe is a meme, but that does not mean it is your intellectual property. Pepe is a character from the comic Boy’s Club by Matt Furie, and if you have not gotten permission from him to sell his IP, you might be facing legal troubles. Just heads up.

Hello Ben. As a longtime fan of your works, I hope you know what you’re getting yourself into associating with 8chan’s, formerly 4chan’s, /pol/ board. There are a lot of true racists and genocidal bigots there. On the whole, it’s a force for progress fighting back against the now left-dominated intolerant establishment, it’s just that it has some truly nasty elements that are equally as bad.
